Meadow & Forest Projects

MLC has participated in several meadow and forest projects, with a varying range of scope. Here are a few examples of projects we're proud to have been part of.

Sherman Pit Tree Planting 
Client: Conservation Halton
​Summary
​Located in a retired quarry, over 7200 bare root trees and shrubs were planted.  Species were planted in areas based on soil requirements and planted to mimic natural occurrence within a mixed forest site.

Hand Planting
Centennial Tract Afforestation 
Client: York Region
​Summary
Over a 3 year period, over 90,000 trees are being hand and machine planted into this forest tract. Due to aggressive deer browse, many hardwood species are being protected with installation of deer fencing as well.

Nith River Riparian 
Client:
 County of Brant
​Summary
Working with the County of Brant, we have supported a number of their planting efforts across several properties. MLC developed a planting plan and completed the work for this Nith River riparian planting.

Lynn Valley Park Post Planting
Kitchener Park Plantings
Client:  City of Kitchener
​Summary
​MLC is working with the City of Kitchener on their restoration planting projects for a 3 year period. Annual tree planting ranges between 4000-8000 units. Trees are mulched and receive a rodent guard.
