Light Civil Construction Projects

MLC has delivered an array of light civil projects of varying scale and scope. Here are a few examples of projects we're proud to have been part of.
Newly installed bridge and riffle
Sixteen Mile Weir Removal and Bridge Installation
​Client: Conservation Halton
Summary
​​This project had 2 components with the first being the removal of a mill dam and installation of natural channel design to restore fish passage. The second component was the replacement of 2 undersized and non fish friendly culverts with a spanning timber bridge.

Post installation 
Lynde Creek Restoration
​Client: Private Landowner 
Summary
​​This project required the installation of double walled heavy-duty sediment fencing, prior to construction. Five newbury weirs were installed in the existing channel and a new channel was constructed downstream along with the addition of a 1600mm corrugated steel culvert. Stream banks were stabilized by seeding with cover crop and native seed mix, and secured with geotextile. Over 400 plugs of native riparian species were also planted along the banks.
